Happy Monday Luv,
After the excitement of the weekend, we may find ourselves dreading Monday rather than looking forward to it. Personally, I’ve worked hard to change my perspective on Mondays, and they’re now more motivated than ever!
Mondays are days when I refocus my goals and to-do lists, schedule some “me” time, and generally enjoy the day a little more!
Here are some ideas to get your week started right!
CHANGE YOUR POINT OF VIEW
The “Sunday scaries” exist, but they don’t have to! So change your point of view. Instead of dreading Monday, think of it as a fresh start, a chance to start the week on a positive note, and get excited about all that you’ll accomplish this week!
HAVE A GRATEFUL ATTITUDE
Along with shifting your perspective, being intentional about cultivating a grateful attitude will improve your week’s outlook.
To reset my mind and focus on what matters most, I try to spend quiet time in the morning reading a devotional, spending time in the Bible, or keeping a thankful journal. And even if I don’t have time to sit down in the morning, I make it a point to go through a list of things I’m thankful for… I’m excited about my new job, my health, my husband, the opportunity to inspire others, and even simple things like a new pair of work pants.
I dare you to make your own list!
CREATE SOMETHING TO LOOK FORWARD TO
Whether it’s treating yourself to your favorite latte on the way to work, scheduling a fun lunch date, or devoting your evening to some self-care time, having something to look forward to on Mondays makes the day that much better! Whatever you decide, make it a habit for the next month and see how you feel.
HAVE YOUR WEEKLY TO-DO LIST COMPLETED
Setting aside some time on Sunday (or even the Friday before) to plan your intentions for Monday and the week ahead, and having that ready before Monday morning, can relieve some of the stress of not knowing what you need to do for the day/week.
Every week, I write two to three small goals that I want to accomplish and focus on for the week at the top of my planner. It could be finishing a blog post, working out every day that week, drinking more water, or even seeing a friend I’d planned to meet for lunch.
GET YOUR MONDAY STARTED WITH A WORKOUT
I’ve recently started going to my morning workout class, and while it can be difficult not to stay an extra hour under the warm covers, I always feel amazing afterward! Even if it’s only a 30-minute walk, getting your body moving in the morning can boost your energy and refresh your mind for the day and week ahead.
GET THE UNPLEASANT STUFF OUT OF THE WAY
Although Monday can sometimes be daunting, it is also an excellent opportunity to complete those unpleasant tasks. Laundry. Meal preparation. Cleaning. Get it done on Monday (or, better yet, Sunday) so your to-do list doesn’t grow as long.
How do you start your Mondays? Please comment, I’d love to know…
Talk to you soon,
