Fridays are wonderful. The gateway to good times. The quickest way to have fun. However, Fridays are still workdays: you want to be productive, feel good about your accomplishments, and be proud of your work before you leave the office for the weekend (assuming you are lucky enough to leave work behind on Saturdays and Sundays).
We are sometimes so eager to get to the weekend that every hour of Friday feels like a tick-tock of slow torture. So I’ve compiled a list of ten hacks to help you make the most of your Friday. Make it productive and enjoyable, collaborative and relaxing.
1. DO NOT MISS BREAKFAST
It is so important to eat a healthy breakfast.
2. DRESS FOR SUCCESSFULNESS
Put on your happy socks. Make sure you’re dressed for success – it helps boosts confidence as well.
3. LISTEN TO YOUR FAVORITE MUSIC
To prepare for happiness, listen to your favorite happy playlist or comedy podcast on the way to work.
4. GET THE DIFFICULT THINGS DONE FIRST
Take on your most challenging projects first thing in the morning to get them out of the way. Done and dusted!
5. GET UP AND MOVE
Go to the gym for lunch or go for a walk with your coworkers. We are happier when we move our bodies.
6. SEND AN EMAIL OF THANKS TO A COWORKER
It will not only make the recipient feel better but also make you feel better.
Spend a few minutes planning out all the fun things you’ll do this weekend. (Studies show that simply anticipating fun or a trip is almost as good as actually having fun; your brain can’t tell the difference!)
8. TAKE A BREATHER
Take a brief meditation break with your colleagues. It’s a great team-building activity, a break from work, and a relaxation technique all rolled into one.
9. CLEAN YOUR DESK
According to some experts, a clean desk can also help you think more organized. Everything will be sparkling and fresh when you arrive on Monday morning, ready for you to get to work.
10. START HAPPY HOUR EARLY!
